Collaborative Exhibition and Performance at Frist Art Museum - Nick Cave’s “Feat”

POVA was invited by the Frist Art Museum to participate as a community partner in the creation and performance piece with Chicago-based artist Nick Cave. Our artists created beaded blankets inspired by their “Urban Camouflage” and worked with local poet, Ciona Rouse, to create poetry around the theme and their stories.

The project culminated in a performance in April 2018 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. During the performance, our POVA artists had the opportunity to watch from the Schermerhorn Symphony Center’s Founder’s Box seats while POVA artists Beth Gunn and Gwen Johnson participated IN the Frist Art Museum/Nick Cave performance.
