Intern Reflection by Natalie Butler

Fall 2022 Semester

My name is Natalie Butler, and I had the pleasure of interning at Daybreak Arts this past semester. As someone who is looking to go into the art administration world after graduation, Daybreak gave me some wonderful experience. I spent my internship organizing the gallery, making sure artworks were accounted for, and even curating a few Daybreak Arts shows! It was fun being able to do something a little different every time I came into the studio.

In addition gaining relevant and important career experience, I also got to encounter the special Daybreak Arts culture. Every time I walked in the door I was greeted with warmth. The staff members are hardworking, compassionate, and deeply committed to making an impact in Nashville and beyond. As for the artists, they are friendly, creative, and expressive. They boldly use the power of art to open up honest conversations, share their unique stories, and add beauty to the world around them. Each time I came in, there were new, amazing art pieces to look at and ponder.

I truly would recommend anyone to intern at Daybreak Arts. Whether someone is looking for career-relevant experience or simply wants to volunteer their time some place special, Daybreak Arts is the way to go!
