About Poverty & the Arts
Poverty & the Arts is a local nonprofit whose mission is to create sustainable change for homeless and formerly homeless individuals by providing an environment that fosters creativity and strengthens community relationships. Our goal is to help these individuals generate income and job preparation skills, as well as establish networks and purpose in life, through programming such as our Community Arts Days and Artist Collective. We also use the arts to promote relationships and a space for volunteers to view homeless individuals as talented and creative, thus creating better advocates and more compassionate community members.
