POVA IN THE NEWS: NFocus - POVA's Gold Key Gala Becomes Virtual and Interactive
The annual fundraiser for artists impacted by homelessness offers a "Build Your Own Evening" experience
AUTHORS Jonathan Sims
Local arts nonprofit Poverty and the Arts (POVA) is starting the year off right with an innovative take on the virtual fundraiser. The annual Gold Key Gala has been adapted to be a “Build Your Own Evening” interactive online event.
All supporters with a household admission ticket will join others for a virtual art show from The River Center, an online silent auction, a virtual kick-off and wrap-up parties with POVA artists, along with free post-event art and auction delivery and a gift bag with fun party supplies to make the festivities even more exciting.
To personalize your evening, though, there are some fascinating add-on options. You can add food and beverage options, such as a multi-course meal provided by Town and Table Catering, craft cocktails from Boulevard Fling, and craft beer from East Nashville Beer Works and Good People Brewing. There’s even a delivery option to have all of it sent directly to your house. Additional interactive options include a live painting performance with POVA artists, an artist Q&A session, trivia with prizes; a virtual painting class by Dabble Studio (art supplies included!), a private gallery tour and more.
All of the proceeds from the gala go directly to POVA for supporting the mission of “helping artists who have been impacted by homelessness leverage their creative talent to earn income and create their own sustainable solutions.”
The gala will take place on Feb. 20 at 4:30 p.m. For more information and to reserve your tickets, visit povanashville.org/gala.
