Meet BANDY
Chris Bandy (known as ‘BANDY’) joined our Artist Collective in April 2019. BANDY is from Nashville and secured permanent housing in 1997. Before their move back to Nashville, BANDY experienced homelessness in New York City due to mental health and addiction issues. When describing their artistic journey, BANDY explains: "as a child I used art as a means of escape, as a young adult a means of self discovery, and in middle age as a strategy to realize inner truths that differ from society's restrictions and oppression." BANDY's goals are to make personal connections with other artists, generate income doing what they truly love, and communicate their subjective reality to the outside world.
Matching the artists’ personality, BANDY’s eclectic collection features bold colors and thought-provoking content that inspires viewers to move in closer to explore the details.
“Access is so important. That’s what I love about Daybreak Arts. Just in the last year since I joined, I’ve sold more work than I ever have before. This place has given my art an opportunity to be seen.”
