“Not many people know what the bottom of a well looks like, let alone acknowledge it. It’s dark, lonely, and the only voice you hear reverberating off the walls is your own. There’s never any judgement, but then there’s never any help. Foot holds are made in well, so you can climb to the top. If no voice of reasoning or encouragement was to yell down, how would we know as humans that there is a purpose to look up and climb?” -Daniel Holmes, original poetry

Featuring his unique style of string pulling acrylic paint, Daniel Holmes created this piece to remind people that everyone needs to ask for and receive help; not only homeless people. He shares “I have been in the well and know how lonely homelessness is.”
