Meet Robyn

ROBYN joined our Artist collective in summer 2024.  She is originally from Cannon in Murray County, TN and grew up on a farm. She has spent much of her life throughout the south. Robyn has been homeless in Nashville for a year, and has experienced homelessness on and off for the last 35 years in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Florida.

Robyn grew up loving to draw and could surround poems she read with trees and other nature drawings. She began writing songs when she was 10 years old and would circle her songs with drawings and paint.

Robyn’s primary art medium is working with acrylic paint and enjoys creating art about nature. While Robyn has not featured her work publicly yet, she has able to share her artwork with guests in her homes over the years. Robyn was inspired by the work of Robert Norman Ross, watching his work on PBS, and to this day studying his work on Youtube. She is most inspired by the effect his work has left on people even after her death.

While at Daybreak Arts, Robyn hopes to inspire others to find some peace within themselves. In this process she also hopes to create more security for herself.

Known for her expressive use of color, Robyn explores the power of abstract shapes and fluid compositions. Each piece invites viewers to find their own meaning within the layers of paint, evoking both excitement and introspection.

“I’m inspired by nature and love to draw. Growing up, I loved drawing trees and other nature symbols around the poems I read.”
