July Gallery Run at Arcade Arts
Daybreak Arts is participating in this summer’s Art Between the Avenues, a curated gallery series taking place inside the historic Arcade Arts venue in Downtown Nashville. The series will feature exhibitions from eleven galleries—and Daybreak Arts will activate Gallery 64, transforming the space into three immersive “mini-galleries,” each envisioned and curated by one of our Daybreak Artists.
Running July 11–26, 2025, this exhibition highlighted the creative voices of Sidney Sparkle, Blue, and Bandy. These three distinct exhibitions offer deeply personal, thought-provoking, and boundary-pushing perspectives—each telling a different story in their own way. Thank you Boxwood Properties for sponsoring this exhibition.
‘Lost in Transportation’ by Blue
Lost in Transportation is a deeply personal reflection on Blue’s journey through homelessness and sobriety in Nashville—told through the faces and moments she observed on city buses, at gas stations, in liquor store windows, and along long walks with no destination. Armed with only a sketchbook, Blue found both solace and expression by documenting the fleeting characters who passed through her days. Each sketch is a snapshot of human complexity—some strange, some tender, all real. These portraits now step out of the pages and into the gallery, inviting us to see what she saw: a city full of people surviving, hoping, wandering, and transforming. This exhibition is more than a collection of drawings; it’s a visual diary of resilience, transition, and the beauty that can be found in unlikely places.
‘The Liminoid AI* *(Anthropop Incantations)’ by Bandy
An Experimental Exhibition introducing Multimedia Techno-Whimsy
Budd Ludd is representing Bandy Co, inviting you to the introduction of The Liminoid AI* *(Anthropop Incantations), the newest design in techo-whimsy to offer, and an alternative to the Silicon Valley techno-dystopia. This exhibit explores the hype bubble of technology, highlighting the art theft and commercial grift involved in presenting tech as an endlessly expanding commodity, particularly as AI continues to encroach on every aspect of life. The illusion of the dystopia... AI stole from artists, and The Liminoid AI is stealing it back.
‘Leave Me in the Glow of You’ by Sidney Sparkle
Sidney Sparkle is a queer, neurodiverse artist who revels in the interplay of antiquated technology and contemporary digital art forms. Inspired by the HBO Paul Reubens documentary Pee-wee as Himself. Sidney Sparkle’s Leave Me in the Glow of You highlights their eclectic style and is a vibrant tapestry that weaves together performance art, instant photography, digital manipulation, and glow art to explore abstract concepts and spontaneous creativity that fosters a community in their art. Their work is an invitation for viewers to step into a world where playfulness meets profundity, and every piece sparkles with personality. In the Sidney-a-Glow-Go, everyone can celebrate the importance of being in the present moment.
Together, these three exhibitions create a powerful collective experience, while allowing each artist to hold their own creative space. The exhibition opens as part of Nashville’s Second Saturday Art Crawl on Saturday, July 12 from 6–9 PM, and continues during regular gallery hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 1-6 PM through July 26th. The next gallery run, featuring a new group of Daybreak Artists, will open August 1 and will run through August 16.
